PURPOSE: To obtain an antidandruff shampoo composition composed of a synthetic surfactant, a pyridinethione metal salt having specific shapes and a specific synergist and capable of cleaning the hair and at the same time exhibiting excellent antidandruff activity. CONSTITUTION: This composition of a lotion is composed of (A) 5-70% synthetic surfactant selected from an anionic, an amphoteric, a dipolar and a nonionic surfactant, (B) 0.3-2% 1-hydroxy-2-pyridinethione metal salt of fine flakes having particle diameters of 2-15μm, preferably 5-9μm, (C) 0.5-5%, preferably 1-3% synergist selected from a polyethylene glycol of formula I [(n)=6-22], a polypropylene glycol of formula II [(n)=6-12], a polyethoxy-polypropoxy block copolymer, a polyethyleneimine of formula III [(n)=6-22], ethoxy nonyl phenol of formula IV [(n)=12-50], polyethylene oxide fat glyceride of formula V [(n)=0-9], etc., (D) 0.5-6% suspending agent such as ethylene glycol diester of C16-22 acids and (E) water in balance.
