PURPOSE:To obtain a method and an apparatus for controlling flow of a reinforcing fiber which do not need a special driving mechanism nor a control instrument by providing a fiber restraining pin which links with driving of a product ejecting apparatus and pierces a high performance fiber-reinforced composite material sheet under clamping condition by means of frames. CONSTITUTION:After a sheet 40 is clamped by means of upper and lower frames 21 and 42, an eject cylinder 24 is elevated and a fiber restraining pin 36 perforates the sheet 40 accompanied therewith and the apex part of the fiber retraining pin 36 enters into the corresponding frame 42. Then, a mold 41 is elevated and sheet molding is performed. When molding is performed, while fibers near the fiber restraining pin are locally broken by deformation behavior of the fibers, a restraining repulsive force is given in the fiber orientation direction of the sheet. In addition, after cooling is performed for a necessary time, the lower frame is lowered and at this time, the fiber restraining pin 36 is kept under a perforating condition into a molded item 50. Furthermore, the eject cylinder 24 is lowered and mold release and knockout of the molded item 50 is performed. In this time, the fiber restraining pin 36 is linked with action of the cylinder and is elevated and is pulled out from the molded item 50. It is thereby possible to restrain surely a composite material sheet. |
