PURPOSE:To improve printed image quality, rubbing resistance, and dispersion stability by bonding, in a nonpolar insulating solvent, a pigment to resin particles insoluble in the solvent. CONSTITUTION:A pigment is bonded to resin particles insoluble in a nonpolar insulating solvent by subjecting the pigment and resin particles to a coupling treatment in the solvent in the presence of a compound having a reactive functional group at both ends of the molecule. If necessary, the resulting mixture is filtered. Thus, an ink for use in an ink-jet printer is obtained which has a viscosity of 30muPa.s or lower at 0-50 deg.C around the delivery nozzle. |
