The fire-retardant polyester resin compsn. comprises (A) 100 wt. parts of a thermoplastic polyester resin, (B) 1-20 wt. parts of a red phosphorus, (C) 0.1-10 wt. parts of a melamine cpd., and (D) 0.01-5 wt. prts of an alkoxy titanium cpd. as a coupling agent. The resin (A) is pref. polyalkylene terephthalate resin, the cpd. (B) is pref. melamine and/or melamine cianuric acid, and the cpd. (D) is pref. neoalkoxy titanate. The polyster resin has a good tensile, tortuosity and impact characteristic.
