PURPOSE:To stabilize an overlapped discharge electric current regardless of dispersion of circuit constant in an ignition device for an internal combustion engine adopting an overlapped discharge method. CONSTITUTION:Value of an overlapped discharge electric current IO flowing on the secondary side of an ignition coil 2 is detected by a discharge electric current detection resistance RO. In the case when the detected overlapped discharge electric current value is smaller than standard electric current value, a duty ratio of a switching element 12 to carry out chopping of a primary coil of a booster transformer 11 is heightened, and in the case when it is larger, it is lowered. |
