The play area (1), such as a sand pit is bounded by a series of abutting kerb panels (2) of wood, stone etc. A foam profile (3) is formed to sit on top of the kerb, located by a groove (4) in its underside. The foam profile is U-shaped and is pref. glued to the kerb and may have toughened outer skin.The cladding profiles are typically coupled at front faces. ADVANTAGE - Reduced seriousness of injury should a child fall on pit edge.
