<p>PURPOSE:To simplify structure and control by providing a driving belt touched to and separated from one end of the outer circumference of a carrying roller formed by arranging a plurality of free rollers, and carrying and stopping articles by touching and separating the driving belt to the carrying roller. CONSTITUTION:An article carrying device has a plurality of free rollers FR pivotally supported between a lateral pair of support frames 2; a head roller 10 pivotally supported on the lower part of the free rollers FR near both end parts of the support frames 2; and a plurality of guide rollers 14 pivotally supported on the lower parts of the free rollers FR in the middle part of the support frames 2. The guide rollers 14 are pivotally supported on the top end of a L-shaped operating lever 18 oscillated through a connecting rod by the operation of a cylinder 26, and a driving belt 30 is touched to and separated from the free rollers FR by the guide rollers 14 by the oscillation of the operating lever 18, whereby the rotation and stop of the free rollers FR are controlled.
