<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a tape from being detached from a reel at the time of traveling a magnetic tape cartridge in the form of its tape whose end is not fixed to the reel and to stop the tape traveling without erroneous detection of an EOT hole. CONSTITUTION:The tape 7 is travled at a 1st speed to execute the read/write of data. The read/write is stopped in response to the detection of a 1st EOT hole E1. The tape is traveled at a 2nd speed that is slower than the 1st speed in response to the detection of a 2nd EOT hole E2. The tape traveling is stopped by detecting a 3rd EOT hole E3.</p> |
