METHOD FOR DECIDING LIFE OF PHOTOSENSITIVE PAPER

PURPOSE:To enable the adequate decision of the life of each of respective photosensitive bodies by eliminating the fluctuating elements, such as use conditions of the photosensitive bodies and the charge imparting performances of electrostatic chargers even if these conditions and performance vary with each of image forming devices. CONSTITUTION:The electrostatic charge potential of the photosensitive body 2 is detected and the potential difference ( V3) between this electrostatic charge potential and the initial electrostatic charge potential of the photosensitive body previously measured with each of the photosensitive bodies to be used is determined. The life of the photosensitive body 2 is decided by comparing the potential difference ( V3) and the prescribed reference potential ( VA). The potential difference (data 1) between the grid electrode potential (VG) impressed to the grid electrode 43 of the electrostatic chargeer 4 and the electrostatic charge potential of the photosensitive body 2 is determined. The life of the photosensitive body 2 is decided by comparing the difference ( V3) between the potential difference (data 2) between the initial electrostatic charge potential of the photosensitive body previously measured with each of the photosensitive bodies to be used and the grid electrode potential and the potential difference (data 1)with the prescribed reference potential ( VB). Further, the electrostatic charge potential of the photosensitive body 2 is detected after cleaning of the electrostatic charger.
