PURPOSE:To obtain a simple magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus which records and reproduces a plurality of tape cassettes selectively or continuously. CONSTITUTION:A deck base 6 on which a magnetic-tape traveling system and a movable tape guide device have been arranged is arranged so as to be capable of being turned. A cylindrical rotary body 31 is installed on its surface; a plurality of cassette trays 30 are arranged on the rotary body 31. The rotary body 31 is turned, and a desired cassette tray 30 is stopped in a home position which is moved together with the deck base 6.
