MANUFACTURE OF DEVICE FOR OPTICAL TRANSMISSION LINE NETWORK AND DEVICE MANUFACTURED BY METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: To easily manufacture an integrated optical device (including a coupler for an LWL fiber) which has a size of about a micrometer and is formed of a polymer material. CONSTITUTION: The device is molded by using a stepped molding insert of metal manufactured by electrocasting from a microstructure body formed by, for example, X-rays integlio lithography. The device has a web or groove 9 as a perliminary molding part for an optical transmission line and a guide groove 10 for another microoptical element and an optical transmission body, and has a step part at a shift part between the guide groove and transmission line structure. The whole structure is similarly formed at the same time. A fiber 11 is fixed in the guide groove 10 with injection resin stably for a long period.
