PURPOSE:To provide a suspension device for a vehicle, which is capable of eliminating rapid change in damping force and preventing the generation of oil sound and vibration while improving control responsiveness. CONSTITUTION:A suspension device for vehicle is provided with a control (e) means having a basic control section (d) for controlling damping characteristics in such a way that until the vertical speed of a suspension reaches a specified basic threshold value after the reverse of the direction of spring vertical speed, damping characteristics proportional to the vertical speed is controlled so that a maximum characteristics may be achieved at a basic threshold value, and when the vertical speed becomes the basic threshold value or over, the damping characteristics, it is controlled to be fixed to the maximum damping characteristics until it reaches the basic threshold value, and until the direction of the vertical speed becomes reversal from the peak value, damping characteristics proportional to the vertical speed taking the vertical speed of the peak value as a maximum speed is controlled. In addition, this suspension device is provided with a limiter control section (f) in the control means (e) for limiting the damping characteristics by the basic control section (d) based on the correcting damping characteristics set in a step state so as to be a maximum damping characteristics until the vertical speed reaches a limiter threshold value larger than the basic threshold value after the reverse of the direction of vertical speed. |
