摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To drastically reduce the time of a refining period and the cost of temp. raising by efficiently using the reaction heat of charged oxidized exothermic raw material for temp. raising of the molten metal. CONSTITUTION:In an arc furnace for temp.-raising and refining, which makes the ratio of (the depth H of molten metal basin part)/(the diameter D of molten metal surface part) 0.3-0.45, oxygen (02) or mixed gas of the oxygen and inert gas is blown from the furnace bottom of the molten metal basin part in the arc furnace, and not only the molten metal 1 is stirred, but also the molten metal 7 is exposed while rejecting the slag 2. Into the exposed part, the oxidized-exothermic raw material of silicon (Si), ferro-silicon (Fe-Si), aluminum (A1) as the typical example. By this method, the oxidized-exothermic raw material can effectively be frought into reaction with the molten metal in the arc furnace and this oxidation-reaction heat can efficiently be utilized for the high speed melting of unmelted metal and the temp. raising of the molten metal.</p>
