PURPOSE:To obtain a high definition and high quality projection-type display device having a light weight adjustment system easy for matching a pixel by providing one or plural optical shift elements different from each other on at least one side of the incident side and the outgoing side of the projection lenses of plural projection optical systems. CONSTITUTION:The figure knows the device using planar transparent substrates 81, 82 as the optical shift element for positional adjustment. Images on light valves 51, 52 are enlarged by the projection lenses 61, 62 and the enlarged images are formed on a screen 7. The planar transparent substrates 81, 82 are rotated in the direction opposite to each other around a (z) axis for axes m1, m2. Then, light beams from the light valves 51, 52 are diffracted and shifted in the direction of the arrow in the figure. That is, the centers of the light valves 51, 52 are shifted equivalently to m11, m22 respectively. At this time, the images on the light valves 51, 52 are moved in the direction opposite to the arrow respectively on the screen 7 by the image formation principle of the projection lenses 61, 62. |
