PURPOSE: To provide a small quick release mechanism of a simple structure, rigid, and usable with reliability, by orienting a sliding surface to a second angle so that movement of an actuating member slides a ledge surface to move the locking member from an engaging position to a release position. CONSTITUTION: In this quick release mechanism for a tool, an actuating member such as a collar 34 is positioned around the upper part 14 of a driving stud 10, a slot 36 and an adjacent sliding surface 38 are formed on this collar 34. The driving stud 10 defines a longitudinal axis 40, and the collar 34 is guided so as to move along the longitudinal axis 40. An opening 16 defines the axis 44 of the opening 16 oriented at a first non-zero acute angleα1 in relation to the longitudinal axis 40, and the sliding surface 38 is oriented at a second non-zero skew angleα2 in relation to the longitudinal axis 40. In this structure, the sliding surface 38 is oriented in parallel with a ledge surface 32 and transversely to a pin 24. |
