SEALING TYPE CABLE ASSEMBLY AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PURPOSE: To provide a sealed type cable assembly whose dielectric strength can be improved without requiring strict manufacturing tolerance. CONSTITUTION: An ignition cable assembly 100 comprises a cable seal 120, which is a thermally shrinkable sleeve, and a tower seal 122 surrounding a terminal 114 and the cable seal 120. The cable seal 120 insulates a proper portion of the terminal 114 to increase the dielectric strength of the ignition cable assembly 100. The tower seal 122 comprises a socket part 126 made of an elastomer and parted from a contact point 118 of the terminal 114 in the radius direction so as to be engaged with the outside face of a male type tower or a female type tower 34 in sealing manner. The thermally shrunk sleeve 120 composes at least a part of the cable seal. The thermally shrinkable sleeve can form a curved coating on the ignition cable 112 or house a curved terminal.
