PURPOSE:To provide the managing method for memory area so as to clearly and accurately deal with the right of access for each user when the memory area is hierarchically utilized by the plural users CONSTITUTION:Directories A and B are prepared by allocating an area A for banks and allocating an area B for hospitals in the memory area of an IC card. When the bank lends one part of the area A to a credit company, an area C is defined and a directory C is prepared. The credit company utilizes the area C. Right information defining the access right of the bank to the area C for each instruction is written in the directory C.
