This relates to the manufacturing of aromatic polyester of an excellant heat resistance and transparency in the high yield. This polyester is made by reacting at least one kind of aromatic diol of formula (I) and at least one kind of halide of aromatic dicarboxylic acid of (II) in the non-compatible two solvents in the presense of a phase transition catalyst, and specially a molecular weight controller is added 20-120 mins. before terminating the reaction.
