PURPOSE:To adjust the quantities of lights of R, G, and B so that proper white balance is obtained by utilizing the operation of a decrease in transmissivity with the reflection factor of glass. CONSTITUTION:In a part of each path for liquid crystal panels of the three primary colors R, G, and B, n2 (n: integer n2>=1) photoconductors 7a-8a, 7b-8b, and 7c-8c which have a refractive index n1 (n: actual number, n1>1) are interposed to adjust the light quantity balance of R, G, and B. A holder part which can insert and extract the photoconductors 7a-7c, and 8a-8c is provided and the holder part has a holding part for holding the photoconductors without reference to the number of the photoconductors; and the number of inserted photoconductors is selectively increased or decreased according to characteristics of liquid crystal panels 4a-4c or a light source 1 to adjust the white balance. |
