<p>PURPOSE:To save the reduction of throughput by varying an assigning band in correspondence to a remaining band and the number of band reservation failing times in a network reserving a band at a burst level. CONSTITUTION:In addition to a peak rate, a lowest band is simultaneously reported at the time of band requirement. When there is a remaining band enough in an ATM exchange receiving the control cell of band assigning requirement, at the time when the peak rate is assigned, the peak rate is assigned. When the remaining band is little, at the time when the remaining band is not less than the lowest band, a band which is not less than the lowest band and not more than the peak rate is assigned in correspondence to the remaining band so as to start the transmission of a burst. At this time, if there remains no lowest band, the burst is blocked and after some back off time, band assignment is executed again. At the time of reassignment, in order to reduce the probability of being blocked, band assignment is executed in a peak rate smaller than that required at first to reduce the probability of blocking.</p> |
