<p>A pocket hinge assembly (1, 70) having a cabinet plate (2, 72) mounted inside a cabinet (62, 104), a cup (4, 74) mounted within a receptacle formed in a cabinet door (60, 106), and a linking member (6, 76) that pivotally connects the cabinet plate (2, 72) to the cup (4, 74) to permit the cup to rotate relative to the cabinet plate (2, 72) and the cabinet door (60, 106) to move between open and closed positions relative to the cabinet. A one-piece C-shaped locking spring (50, 88) is carried by the cup (4, 74) and includes a catch (56, 90) that cooperate with a cam surface (38, 96) projecting from the linking member (6, 76) as the cup rotates towards the cabinet plate (2, 72) and the cabinet door moves to a closed position across the cabinet to thereby form a lock for preventing the cup (4, 74) from rotating away from the cabinet plate (2, 72) and the cabinet door (60, 106) from moving out of the closed position.</p> |
