PURPOSE:To prevent trouble caused by leakage of a motor compressor, i.e., a refrigerant compressor and a motor housed in one housing, using a small and inexpensive preventer. CONSTITUTION:A refrigerant compressor and a motor 3 are housed in a housing 4 being held while being insulated from a vehicle. The housing 4 is connected with the minus side of a power supply 15 through a leak detection resistor 21. Voltage of the leak detection resistor 21 is monitored by a leak detection circuit 20 which delivers a leak detection signal to a control section 17 for an inverter bridge 16 when the voltage of the resistor 21 reaches a predetermined level. Upon receiving the leak detection signal, the control section 17 interrupts the control of the inverter bridge 16 thus stopping the motor 3. Since the leak can be detected simply by monitoring the voltage of the leak detection resistor 21, a small and inexpensive leak preventer can be realized. |
