An analytical device comprising a means for suspending particles, the analytical device comprising a conveying means for positioning the pipetting needle (18) at a distance (e) from the central longitudinal axis (22) of the reaction vessel (8). The particles are suspended by delivering portions of reagent liquid to two different positions at a distance (e) from the central longitudinal axis (22) of a reaction vessel (8), generating a flow in the reaction vessel which enables the particles to be suspended exclusively by injection of reagent, thus avoiding the need for a subsequent shaking operation.
