The circuit includes a demodulating circuit for outputting the audio data of the compact disk to serial data; a channel holder for holding each left and right predetermined N numbers of data bit among the left and right channels being the series data of the demodulating circuit; a N/2n converter connected to the left and right N bit output of the channel holder for converting the output line into 2n lines; and an audio level meter connected to the output of the N/2n converter for indicating the audio level in accordance with the left and right level signals.
