摘要 PURPOSE:To generate sinusoidal laser beams at arbitrary modulation frequency up to extremely high frequency from DCs without generating energy loss by applying a magnetic field to a Farady rotor while varying and controlling the intensity of the applied magnetic field under the state in which an oscillation section outputs linearly polarized laser beams. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic field having proper intensity is applied to a Farady rotor 14 under the state in which an oscillation section is polarized and oscillated continuously. Consequently, revolution corresponding to the intensity of the applied magnetic field is added every time continuous polarized laser beams pass through the Farady rotor 14. When the revolution is viewed at every fixed time length, the plane of polarization is rotated continuously as if a ribbon were twisted at predetermined number. Accordingly, laser beams passing through a polarizer 2 are changed into the sine waves of modulation frequency corresponding to the intensity of the applied magnetic field. The frequency of laser beams can be acquired up to extremely high modulation frequency from linearly polarized waves corresponding to DCs by varying the intensity of the magnetic field at that time.
