摘要 Fibre-optic Sagnac interferometer for measuring rate of rotation, comprising a wavelength-stabilized light source The invention relates to the additional use of an integrated optics chip (MIOC) as Michelson interferometer for stabilizing the wavelength of a light source (L) within a fibre-optic Sagnac interferometer for measuring rate of rotation, wherein in addition to a resetting digital phase ramp (AT1) dependent on the rate of rotation also a statistically independent second signal component is applied to a phase modulator included in the integrated optics chip (MIOC), said second signal component optimizing the working point of the phase modulator (PM). With this type of statistically independent variation of the phase modulation, the light-wavelength-dependent measuring signal of the Michelson interferometer can be demodulated from the detector read-out signal and can be used for readjustment of the light-source wavelength via a light-source temperature change and/or injection current change for the light source (L). In open loop operation, variations of the scale factor can be compensated using the light-wavelength-dependent measuring signal. The invention provides the advantage that on the one hand the wavelength of the light source (L) is measured directly and that on the other hand no additional hardware is required due to the employment of a separate interferometer for measuring and readjusting the wavelength of the light source (L), and for controlling the scale factor, respectively.
