The invention relates to a method of reusing mineral fibre waste when manufacturing new mineral fibres. According to the method, the waste is mixed with a hydraulic binding agent and water and is moulded into pieces of suitable size, which are hardened and can then be fed into the smelting furnace as a part of the raw material mixture when manufacturing new mineral fibres. The mixing and moulding take place continuously in one sequence and using a binding agent which has a short binding time, for example Portland cement. This shortens the hardening time of the moulded pieces.
