PURPOSE:To provide a grooving apparatus and a grooving method for a tire, wherein the quality of a tire product is improved and the long service life of a cutter is obtained, in cutting pattern grooves of the tire while heating the cutter. CONSTITUTION:A grooving apparatus 1 comprises a tire support device 2, a horizontally moving device 3, a lifting gear 4, a rotary arm 5, a cutter support device 6 and a controlling means. A cutter load detecting means 22 is provided to the cutter support device 6, and a determination section which corrects a command value of an electric current to be supplied to a feed device 21 on the basis of a signal from the cutter load detecting means 22 is connected to the controlling means. |
