TILT ADJUSTING AND LOCKING MECHANISM FOR CHAIR SEAT SECTION

PURPOSE: To provide a chair seat tilt adjusting mechanism for a pedestal base chair. CONSTITUTION: A chair is mounted on a pedestal base, and provided with a chair control housing 9 supporting a chair seat support member 12 pivotally. A front stop member, which is mounted on the inside of the housing 9 and is movable horizontally comes into contact with the front flange 21 of the chair seat support member 12 and limits the rotating motion of the seat support member 12 so as to keep a prescribed angle against the chair control housing 9 a floor supporting the chair. A lever member 39 fixes the seat supporting member 12 at the position making one or more prescribed angles. This chair is provided with a hollow plastic pivot pin 17 pivotally connecting the chair adjustment housing 9 with the chair seat support member 12.
