An apparatus (1) for interleaving preprinted loose or continuous spooled colour inserts or advertising leaflets and attaching them in a specified sequence to the pages (10) of e.g. a newspaper (3) during its print run on a rotary press has a pair of heated pressure rolls (4), a guideplate (not shown), several EM coupled electrically-driven feedrollers (5), shears (6), adhesive dispenser (7) and a spooling reel (8). The insert material is individually beaded with adhesive (7) shears (6) and opto-electronically aligned via the position markers (12) operating in conjunction with the low-inertia fast response feed rollers (5) for bonding by the heated rolls (4).
