The device (1200) has a controller (1201) to open a logical channel with another data processing device i.e. modem. A receiver (1202) receives a message from the latter data processing device specifying a data link layer protocol data unit size to be used for exchanging data through a logical channel i.e. control channel. A transceiver (1203) exchanges data with the latter data processing device over the logical channel in accordance with the data link layer protocol data unit size, where the protocol data unit size is constant for the logical channel until the logical channel is closed. |
