The drying part comprises cylinders 1, 2 in two rows, in which a first support screen 3 is guided over the cylinders 1 from the first row and a second support screen 4 is guided over the cylinders 2 in the second row so that the corresponding support screen in the cylinders of each row is arranged to support the web W that is to be dried against the cylinders, and the support screen between the cylinders is guided over guide rolls 5, 6 for the screens. In the sections of the support screens 5, 6 running the over guide rolls 5, 6 for the screens there are transfer sites of the web W from the first support screen 3 to the second support screen 4 and from the second support screen 4 to the first support screen 3. In the intermediate space between two cylinders 1 of the same row the support screen 3 is guided over a single guide roll 5 for the screen between which guide rolls an intermediate space is formed between the cylinders 2 of the second row, in which the support screen 4 is guided over two guide rolls 6 for the screen. <IMAGE>
