PURPOSE:To obtain an electroviscoelastic material, having great electroviscous effects, excellent in stability and useful for power transmission systems, vibration control systems, etc., by reacting a specific isocyanate compound with a specified active hydrogen compound. CONSTITUTION:This electroviscoelastic material is obtained by reacting an isocyanate compound represented by formula 1 [R<1> is an organic residue; (n) is 0 or a natural number] such as diphenylmethane diisocyanate with an active hydrogen compound represented by formula II {X and Y are each an active hydrogen-containing group; R<2> is H or an organic residue, preferably an alkoxysilane-Si(OR<3>)3-p(R<4>)p [R<3> and R<4> are each a lower alkyl or phenyl; (p) is 0-2]: (m) is 0 or a natural number} such as a polyether polyol. Furthermore, the storage elastic modulus G' of the viscoelastic material is preferably 10<5>-10<9> dyn/cm<2> at ambient temperature. |
