<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a power generator which suppresses heat to be generated by an exciting current control circuit to control the output of a generator by a method wherein an increase in the output of the generator in a state that the temperature of an exciting current is low is suppressed and heat to be generated by an element used to detect the increase in the output of the generator is suppressed. CONSTITUTION:An exciting coil 2 is provided with a return current circuit 9 which makes a return current flow at a time when a switching means 12 which electrifies and cuts off the exciting coil 2 is turned off. A return current detection element 23 which detects the return current is installed at the return current circuit 9. When the detection current of the return current detection element 23 exceeds a prescribed value in a state that the switching means 12 is turned off, the switching means 12 is kept in an OFF state. When the temperature of the exciting current 2 rises, the output of a generator 1 is lowered, and a ratio in which a current flows to the return current circuit 2 (the return current detection element 23) is reduced. As a result, it is possible to suppress heat to be generated by the return current detection element 23 used to suppress an increase in the output of the generator 1 in a state that the temperature of the exciting current 2 is low.</p> |
