The incinerator has a hearth (1A) with a horizontal internal collector (3A) of combustion gases in the lower part of the hearth. The collector is extended outside the incinerator by a two part vertical flue (3C,3D) connected in series, and both directed downward. A water diffuser (3t,3s) is fitted in the upper region of these two parts of the flue. The water diffuser cools the flue gas, maintaining a low pressure that helps extract flue gases. The combustion air for solid waste arrives naturally from beneath the grating, drawn in by the low pressure region created by the water diffusers. Valves (2g) in the air inlet are chosen so their weight and surface area allow the suction to remain constant. The solids are moved along the grating by pistons moving in an alternating motion.
