<p>PURPOSE: To control the air-fuel ratio of an internal combustion engine to enable correcting exhaust gas components which are worsened in a transient state. CONSTITUTION: The discharge of each component is calculated using temperature sensors 16, 17 for detecting the activation rate of the catalyst; a sensor 13 for detecting in linear fashion the concentration of O2 contained in the exhaust gas of the internal combustion engine; means 19 for detecting the flow rate of the exhaust gas; means 18 for originating the purification rate for every component; and means 20 for calculating the discharge of harmful components. When the ratio of the components is imbalanced for enhancement of drivability, this information is input from a driving condition command means 22, the desired air-fuel ratio is corrected using a corrected air-fuel ratio setting means 21, the total amount and ratio of every component in the exhaust gas are controlled, and an optimum amount of fuel injection is determined by a neural network 14 and a control part 15.</p> |
