<p>PURPOSE: To ensure always the similar flying distance even if how to place a ball is different and to improve freedom of design on arrangement of dimples by designing a method for arranging the dimples on a golf ball wherein a plurality of dimples are respectively arranged in a spherical regular pentagon and a spherical regular triangle. CONSTITUTION: A spherical surface 1 is divided into twelve spherical regular pentagons 1a and twenty spherical regular triangles 1b corresponding to the faces of dodeca- to icosa-hedron and a plurality of dimples 2 are respectively formed on each regular pentagon 1a and regular triangle 1b. In a golf ball like this, the lines for dividing the spherical surface 1 into regular pentagons 1a and regular triangles 1b are made to coincide with total six large circles A the centers of which coincide with the center of the golf ball. In addition, such a constitution that the dimple arrangement found when the dimple pattern formed in the regular pentagon 1a is observed from the direction of each side L of the regular pentagon 1a are all different each other, is provided and the directions of dimple patterns respectively provided in regular pentagons 1a arranged along each large circle A are arranged so as to make them different but in the same order.</p> |
