<p>PURPOSE: To make reheating of billet possible by making a feed roller arranged between heating furnaces elevatable by an elevating device so as to smoothly heat and transport without damaging a heating furnace. CONSTITUTION: A bar stock W is carried in by a command of controller and is moved through plural heating coils 8 by driving of a heating line side feed roller 9 to be gradually heated. Further, after the bar is cut to a heated billet Wa of the prescribed length by a hot shear 3, temp. measurement is executed on a selecting table 23 by a sensor 24 for temp. detecting, for the case in the prescribed temp. range, the billet is subjected to forging in subsequent process through a chute 22. When the billet Wa is at the prescribed temp. or less, the selecting table 23 is inclined to this side by the command of controller and transported to a returned billet transfer part 26 by a return conveyer 25. After transfer, when a discriminating sensor 28 discriminates the billet Wa, the heating line side feed roller 9 is lowered corresponding to the feed speed of billet Wa by an air cushion 16.</p> |
