<p>PURPOSE: To reduce an arithmetic amount by finding the relative permittivity of soil by evaluating the degree of the agreement of a first frequency component for every frequency in the frequency region of an original image with a second component for every frequency in the frequency region of a signal by reflected waves from a buried object in every predetermined specific permittivity. CONSTITUTION: On the basis of the time difference between electromagnetic waves 5 radiated while being moved to as to traverse an underground buried pipe 2 and reflected waves 6, an original image in a soil cross section is formed so as to be stored in a memory 11. Then, while the specific permittivity of soil 1 is being changed sequentially so as to be set, an arithmetic operation by a migration method is performed by a processing circuit 9 by using at least a part of the original image. The degree of the agreement of a first frequency component for every frequency in the frequency region of the original image obtained by a migration processing operation with a second frequency component for every frequency in the frequency region of a signal by the reflected waves 6 from the buried pipe 2 in every predetermined specific permittivity is evaluated. A specific permittivity whose evaluation is high is judged to be the specific permittivity of the soil 1 in which the buried pipe 2 has been buried.</p> |
