<p>PURPOSE: To provide an input device which is high in input efficiency and is capable of coping with a miniaturization. CONSTITUTION: A touch detector 13 detects the contact with the ball of a pointing device 12 and imparts the detection signal to the control part 21 of an input controller 2. A control part 21 imparts the signal from the keys 11 of a keyboard 1 and the detection signal of the touch detector 13 to a selection part 22. The input controller 2 is provided with a first keyboard table 23 in which a control code, a function code and a character code, etc., are made into tables corresponding to the keys 11 and a second keyboard table 24 in which the execution code and the release code of a pointer, etc., are made into tables corresponding to the keys 11. Based on the signals imparted from the key 11 and the touch detector 13, a selection part 22 selects the first keyboard table 23 when a user does not come into contact with the ball of the pointing device 12 and selects the second keyboard table 24 when the user comes into contact with the ball.</p> |
