<p>An electrolytic apparatus for protection against corrosion of a service water piping system comprises a reactor (4) being small relative to the water consumption and being passed by a partial flow of the used water, as well as an anode (5) and a cathode (6'; 6''; 6'''). The anode (5) and the cathode (6''') are arranged in the reactor (4) and connected to a control unit (9) with a source of current supplying a current in response to the water consumption. The anode (5) contains aluminium, and the cathode (6''') is made of insoluble metal, such as iron or zinc, which reduces the costs involved in manufacturing the electrolytic apparatus. The anode (5) is preferably rod-shaped, and the cathode is a helical wire (6''') coaxially arranged about the anode (5).</p> |
