Prefilled dose syringe consists of a tubular flask (1) contg. a dose of liquid to be injected, closed by a stopper (2) which can be pierced by the needle (19) and can slide lengthwise inside the flask to act as a plunger. The flask fits into an outer tubular barrel (7) and has an inner retaining core (10) which extends from its end cap (8) to the plunger to prevent the plunger from moving into the barrel and acting as a plunger rod. The syringe needle (19) has a point at each end and extends through the inner core (10). One end (19a) is designed to perform the injection, while the other (19b) pierces the stopper (2). The barrel of the syringe also has lengthwise vanes (20,21) with inner end projections (23), and the projecting end of the needle is protected by a locking cap (35).
