PURPOSE: To provide a superior solar power generation device which is of an extremely simple constitution and can detect the maximum electric power point of a solar battery and control the operation point of the solar battery. CONSTITUTION: In this solar power generation device constituted so that the generated electric power of the solar battery 1 is supplied to a load 4 through a control circuit 12, and the control circuit 12 is equipped with a capacitor 6 which is charged by the solar battery 1, a capacitor 6 is discharged after being charged up to a set voltage Vc, the terminal voltage across the capacitor 6 is sampled at plural points of time between the start point of time of the charging and the point of time when the capacitor 6 reaches the specific voltage, and the operating voltage of the solar battery 1 is so controlled as to obtain a sampling voltage having the maximum product of the difference |V1-V2| between a sampling voltage V1 at a certain point of time and a subsequent sampling voltage V2 and the sampling voltage V2. |
