The central unit (2) is positioned separately from the button keyboard (1) and after a specific signal from the button keyboard permits the vehicle to be driven. The device can also incorporate an alarm part, e.g. an acoustic alarm which sounds when there is an attempt to start the starter motor. - The central unit (2) is formed as an electronic unit, incorporated in or fitted on the fuel pump (3), which when a specific coded signal is received from the button keyboard is activated. A timer (9) is connected to the central unit for setting a specific time for the maximum drive of the vehicle, e.g. in connection with vehicle hire. When this time period is exceeded, the coded signal is invalidated, and the vehicle cannot be started. A semi-conductor is incorporated (4), which when a fault occurs or in the absence of a correct signal from the button keyboard (1) cuts off current supply (4) to the fuel pump (3), so that the vehicle cannot be started. |
