<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position detector which enables a destined position to be indicated directly by a finger and thus takes the place of a mouse used with a personal computer, etc. SOLUTION: A plurality of pyroelectric type infrared detecting elements 3 are arranged, an infrared ray produced from a finger 6 is detected by each infrared detecting element 3, and the position and direction of the indicating finger 6 are determined from the difference in signals output from the infrared detecting elements 3 so as to move a cursor on a personal computer to provide functions that can take the place of those of a mouse.</p> |
