PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simply structured workpiece supporting device which is applied to any kinds of workpiece materials to be machined by arranging the upper surface of a second workpiece supporting member group higher than the upper surface of a first workpiece supporting member group with respect to a workpiece carrying surface. SOLUTION: A supporting device 20 is composed of a first workpiece supporting member group 21 for performing specified elastic deformation and a second workpiece supporting member group 25 for performing elastic deformation larger than the specified elastic deformation realized by the first workpiece supporting member group 21. The rubber roller 26 of the second workpiece supporting member group 25 is fixed in a table 4 so as to be positioned higher than the metal roller 22 of the first workpiece supporting group member 21. Thus, since work is carried out by the soft rubber roller 26 having large elastic deformation when a relatively light weight article, such as a thin aluminum metal plate, is machined, almost no damage is given to the plate surface of a workpiece 3. In the case of a thick metal plate, since most of a work load is placed on the metal roller 22, wearing caused in the rubber roller is prevented. |
