FRP PIPE MATERIAL AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a pipe material from becoming broken to pieces when it is snapped by an impact by reinforcing an FRP pipe material without adversely affecting its performance such as elasticity which would be originally obtained unless it is reinforced, and also without undergoing a troublesome process, in the FRP pipe material used as a shaft for a golf club. SOLUTION: An FRP pipe material 2 consists of a tape-like reinforcing material 8, formed of a fiber with a higher tenacity and a lower modulus of elasticity than a fiber reinforcing material composing the FRP of a pipe main body 4, fixed to a space between specified spots in the axial direction of the inner peripheral face 6 of the pipe main body 4 of FRP. This pipe material 2 is manufactured by arranging the tape-like reinforcing material 8 between specified spots in the axial direction of the outer peripheral face of a mandrel, then forming a layer of an FRP molding material on the surrounding of the mandrel, and curing the FRP molding material.
