The invention relates to a windmill sail comprising two half-shells 19, 20 which constitute at least a part of the surface of the sail and are joined together at cemented joints along the front edge and the rear edge of the sail. In the windmill sail according to the invention, the cementing surfaces on the front edge and rear edge of the individual half-shells 19, 20 are constituted by surface parts 21 and, respectively, 22 which are in the form of lips and extend in opposite directions approximately in the plane of symmetry of the sail, the opposite sides of the surface parts 21, 22 being covered by shields 23 and, respectively 24 which optimize the aerodynamic surface of the sail. The shields 23 and 24 are fastened to the half-shells 19, 20 of the sail at cemented joints 27 along the front edge and rear edge of the sail, which cemented joints can optionally be supplemented by or replaced with a bolt connection 28. <IMAGE>
