PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the processing performance of plotting to be executed while switching a display window in a graphic display device having multiwindow constitution. SOLUTION: A central processing unit(CPU) 1 transfers line plotting instructions 13, 14 for respective processes to respective addresses A611, B612 of the graphic display device 5 allocating instruction transfer addresses to respective processes A11, A12. In the device 5, a bus controller 51 writes the transfer addresses of the transferred instructions in the transfer addresses A611, B612 included in respective instruction codes, a geometry processor 53 recognizes plotting attributes A-543, B-544 corresponding to the transferred addresses, and when switching is generated, switches the attributes A-543, B-544, generates and transfers a rester generator command. A raster generator 55 receives the transferred instruction and plots lines in the windows A561, B562 of a frame memory 56.
