PRODUCTION OF SURFACE MODIFIED TITANIA CARRIER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the adsorbing capacity of an NOx adsorbent using a surface modified titania carrier. SOLUTION: A non-combustible fiber preform is impregnated with a mixed soln. of titania colloid and an aq. soln. or emulsion of an org. polymeric substance to be dried. Titania containing the org. polymeric substance formed to the non-combustible fiber preform is impregnated with an aq. Mn salt soln. to be dried. The non-combustible fiber preform holding titania, the org. polymeric substance and the Mn salt is baked.
